Sometimes it seems like you know everything about electric fireplace safety, I for one plug in the socket and start fiddling. But remembering a few simple rules or warnings never hurts, at the risk of sounding boring. These appliances are intended for use in domestic and similar applications, such as: -Kitchen areas for staff in shops, offices and other workplaces, -farmhouses, -Customers in hotels, motels and other residential type environments -Bed and breakfast type environments -Common use areas in flat blocks or flats or in laundromats WARNING: 1. To avoid overheating, do not cover the fireplace. 2. Do not use this heater in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool. 3. Do not use the heater if it has been dropped. 4. Do not use the heater if there are visible signs of damage. The heater must not be used if the glass panels are damaged. 5. Use the heater on a horizontal, stable surface or fix it to the wall, as appropriate. 6. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by people who cannot leave the room alone, unless constant supervision is provided. 7. The fireplace is hot when it is in operation. To reduce the risk of fire, keep fabrics, curtains or any other flammable material at least 1 m away from the air outlet. 8. Extreme caution is necessary when children are near the hearth and when the hearth is left running and unattended. 9. Always unplug the hearth when it is not in use. 10. Do not operate the hearth with a damaged cable or plug, or if the heater malfunctions, falls or is damaged, take it back to the authorised service centre for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment or repair. 11. Do not use outdoors. It is suitable for indoor use only. 12. Do not run the cable under carpeting. Do not cover the cable with carpets, strips or similar coverings. Route the cable away from traffic areas and where it cannot be tipped over. 13. To disconnect the fireplace, turn the controls to off, then remove the plug from the socket. 14. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter the ventilation or exhaust openings, as this could cause electric shock or fire, or damage the stove. 15. To avoid a possible fire, do not block the air intakes or exhaust in any way. Do not use on soft surfaces, such as a bed, where the openings could become blocked. 16. There are hot, glowing parts inside. Do not use it in areas where petrol or flammable liquids are used or stored. 17. Use the stove only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons. 18. DANGER - High temperatures may be generated under certain abnormal conditions. Do not partially or completely cover or obstruct the front of the heater. 19. Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, stand-alone remote control system, or any other device that automatically turns on the heater, as there is a risk of fire if the heater is covered or improperly positioned. 20. Do not use the electric fireplace for purposes other than those described in this instruction manual. 21. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 22. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the equipment. 23. Do not use this equipment outdoors. 24. Always unplug the electric fireplace from the power socket when not in use and before cleaning. 25. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. 26. Maintenance of the components must only be carried out by an authorised electrician. 27. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Cleaning the outside of the device Before cleaning the device, unplug it from the power socket and allow it to cool down. Do not use cleaning or polishing products. WARNING: To avoid risks from inadvertent thermal cut-off reset, this appliance should not be powered through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off from the mains.
